Newborn Care - All class times are local AZ time (MST)
Due to a significant increase of respiratory illnesses, we are introducing masks for the protection of all team members, visitors, and patients. Masks will be required in lobbies, waiting rooms, cafeteria, Lab, Pharmacy, all patient care areas, and group settings (tours/classes). Children ages 12 and under will not be able to visit, except well siblings for well newborns. Masks will be provided for visitors/staff throughout the hospital.
PLEASE NOTE: Class fee is for expecting mom and partner/support person. If you are bringing a partner/support person, you must register them under "guest".
This in-person newborn care class will provide expectant parents with a preview of life with a newborn. Class content will focus primarily on the information, tools and skills needed to navigate through baby's newborn period (first 28 days of life). This class will introduce expectant parents to the joys and potential challenges of early parenting with hands-on activities regarding the basics of baby care. Class topics and activities will include feeding basics, diapering, bathing, normal newborn sleep cycles, and calming your new baby. Expectant grandparents and other care providers may also benefit from and enjoy this class.
The class will be held in the Brady Conference Center at the Scottsdale Shea Medical Center. The conference center is located on the first floor.
