New Wellness Classes Tai Chi and Qi Gong
Tai Chi - Qi Gong programs involve slow, mindful movement as a form of meditation and healing. The goal of the program is to promote well-being through the flow of energy.
This is a FREE class and is offered every Friday from 10:30am to 11:30am for cancer patients only.
Location: Shea VGPCCN Mind, Body, Spirit Room on 2nd Floor.
Instructor Yuri Grevtsev B.Sc., ASU. Yuri started practicing Tai Chi and Qi Gong in 1988, learning from various teachers. Yuri received instruction in Meditation from Buddhist monks in Asia where he resided several years. Throughout his 35-year teaching career, Yuri has instructed Qi Gong and Tai Chi classes in clinical and recreational settings. Program Components:
- Gentle warm-up, addressing flexibility, balance, coordination, and range of motion.
- Dynamic Qi Gong is designed to further discover and empower body's natural defense mechanisms. Participants learn to differentiate between Yin and Yang full and emply, weight and no weight dynamics.
- The Tai Chi Meditative Steps further clarifies the diversity of Yin and Yang by coordinating footwork and activity with a Chi Ball.
- Static Eight Methods of Qi Gong which focuses on fostering participant's awareness of Qi (Internal Energy), through slow, continuous breathing and meditation.
