Taking every measure for your safety
We know that safety is on everyone’s minds right now, and you may be wondering if it is safe to come back to health facilities for care. Rest assured that we are taking every measure to ensure your safety so you can get the care you need.
Here are just a few of the safety measures we have implemented or increased due to COVID-19:
Coronavirus-zapping robots
HonorHealth has 37 germ-zapping robots, one of the largest fleets in the country. These robots use intense UV light to disinfect environments and destroy the coronavirus and other germs on every surface in the room, especially in areas where high-risk patients are treated and hospitalized. We also have a group of disinfecting pods that use the same technology to sanitize mobile equipment, like wheelchairs, gurneys and IV poles.
Rapid coronavirus testing as needed
Knowledge is power when it comes to providing safe care. HonorHealth delivers coronavirus test results in one hour or less for patients admitted to the hospital when appropriate. This allows us to quickly provide patients with a diagnosis, the right level of care and separation from other patients.
Pre-surgical testing when appropriate
Patients are required to be tested before they are admitted for surgery or a procedure if they are unvaccinated or vaccinated but experiencing symptoms. If a patient tests positive, our team will work with them to ensure they are getting the care they need and taking precautions to prevent the spread of infection.
Masking and personal protective equipment
Masks are optional in most HonorHealth facilities. Your healthcare provider will wear a mask and/or personal protective equipment that is deemed appropriate for your health needs.
Increased sanitation procedures
As always, our incredible environmental services team is focused on the cleanliness of our facilities. It has implemented new measures to ensure that our facilities are thoroughly cleaned. In addition to using the robots, they are doing frequent rounding of areas to disinfect high-touch surfaces and common areas like waiting rooms and bathrooms.
Visitor restrictions
HonorHealth has limited entry and visitors into our medical centers and clinics. Read our visitor restriction policy.
Virtual visits, home-monitoring tools and symptom checker
We have also implemented a number of ways for patients to receive care and check for COVID-19 symptoms before coming to a facility, including virtual visits, a home-monitoring program and a COVID-19 symptom checker.
Each measure – some large, like a fleet of robots; some small, like a wave instead of a handshake – is done with your safety in mind. We will continuously reassess our approach to ensure that we are offering the safest environment for patients and employees, while ensuring that we are meeting the overall healthcare needs of the community at large.
