About

Dr. Alison Goulder is an Arizona native who grew up in Scottsdale. She received her MD from the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. After residency, Dr. Goulder completed her fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, before returning home to the Valley of the Sun.

Dr. Goulder specializes in the medical and surgical care of gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, uterine, cervical, and vulvar cancers. Her clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery (including robotic surgery), debulking surgery, chemotherapy (including targeted therapy and immunotherapy), prehabilitation (optimizing patients' health prior to surgery and/or chemotherapy), and enhanced recovery after surgery. She has a special interest in supporting her patients through the entire arc of their cancer care from diagnosis to surgery, chemotherapy, and survivorship and palliative care.

Dr. Goulder's priority is empowering her patients to be active participants in their care. She places an emphasis on patient education and collaborative decision-making when formulating a treatment plan. She also believes strongly in evidence-based medicine and multidisciplinary approaches to care.

In her spare time, Dr. Goulder enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, taking care of her many tropical house plants, practicing Pilates, and exploring the Phoenix dining scene.
